REVISED: 8/8/22
For attendees who will not be camping with us, Discs-n-Dabs is committed to ensuring your experience coming and going from the event is as safe as possible.
We have multiple initiatives in place to allow you to ride your high out comfortably, and leave the event without endangering yourself and others.
This includes:
  • The inclusion of a spectator with each team that is not required to consume and who will be actively monitoring the team’s level of intoxication, informing staff if there is an issue.
  • Provide Accessible access to information on Taxis, Ridesharing, and Lodging in and around Trinidad area
  • Dedicated “Cool Down” area with Staff in vending/sponsor/stage area for those too intoxicated to leave.
  • Flexible check in/check out hours to allow for comfortable come down
    • Cannabis use can intoxicate for 4-6 hours
    • Rounds are from 10AM-4PM (typically) and music wraps at 10PM allowing for 6 hours of potential non-consumption after consumption rounds are finished.
  • Staff Monitors that are keeping tabs on individuals and their level of intoxication;
    • identifying any potential issues (too intoxicated)
    • providing support (water, shade, monitored cool down area with staff,
  • In scenarios where an individual is too intoxicated to leave, staff arrangements will be made to transport the individual to nearby lodging at the individual’s expense, or to a medical facility if the need should arise.
  • In extreme scenarios, if any individual becomes a safety risk to other attendees, the individual will be removed from the property and barred from attending future events.
    • If individual is too intoxicated to leave and/or is unwilling to comply with requests to leave, said individual will be removed from the property with the assistance of local law enforcement.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT CAMPING AND PLAN TO CONSUME ALCOHOL IN ADDITION TO CANNABIS, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO ALLOW YOUR SPECTATOR TO DRIVE YOU HOME, USE A TAXI, BOOK A LYFT/UBER, OR FIND A STAFF MEMBER WHO CAN MONITOR YOUR CONDITION AND HELP AS NEEDED. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR RISKING YOUR OWN SAFETY OR THAT OF THOSE AROUND YOU. PLEASE HELP US HELP YOU AND FIND A STAFF MEMBER IF THERE IS AN ISSUE.
TAXIS:
Safe Rides of Trinidad Colorado is the premier taxi service of Trinidad (and the only one that we have spoken with directly and confirmed availability during the weekend of the event).
You can reach them here:
Discs-n-Dabs® attendees that book in advance of the tournament (scheduling your ride before check-in on 9/2) can book rides from the course to Trinidad, CO for $25. If you call them during the tournament, the rate is $30.
By scheduling your taxi in advance, you guarantee yourself a ride to and from the event, save a little money, and you can request a 6-person van instead of a passenger car (if you don’t want to cozy up with your stoned and sweaty teammates).
Hours:
  • SAT: 10AM – 12AM (midnight)
  • SUN: 10AM – 6PM
UBER + LYFT:
  • LYFT: Starts at $5.30 – Lyft.com
  • UBER: Starts at $8.55 – Uber.com
  • Suggestions:
    • Users report that ride share is most available around the times of Amtrak arrivals/departures in the city. This is typically around 5:40PM (shortly after rounds complete both days).
    • Scheduling rides in advance may be a better way to lock down drivers consistently for both days.
